About Our Office
Specific Chiropractic Health Center is a holistic health
center that has been helping Stamford-area residents since
1995. In January of 2010, we moved our location from Stamford
to Norwalk. Our approach to helping people regain or maintain
their health is simple - we develop a comprehensive plan that
first assesses the individual's relationship between their
nervous system, muscular system and skeletal system. Most
times, new patients presenting to our office have some imbalance
between these three systems. While a specific injury or accident
can sometimes account for this imbalance, more times than
not, the chronic positions and habits that people assume throughout
the day and night are causing more problems than people realize.
How we position ourselves at work, at home, in the car, and
in bed sleeping can significantly contribute to the chronic
conditions people have. Education is key in understanding
how these positions are affecting someone's health and wellness,
and how developing good lifetime habits will enable you to
experience life in the fullest.
About the Doctors
"Dr. Laura"
Dr. Laura Pardue, a 1993 graduate from Life Chiropractic
College in Marietta, GA (now Life University), has largely
established a family practice with an emphasis on common childhood
conditions and illnesses. Her approach in dealing with these
types of conditions is to first educate the parents about
the correlation between these conditions and the nervous system,
which regulates every function of the body. Dr. Laura places
great emphasis on educating the parents about theses various
conditions so that the parents can make decisions based on
information and knowledge instead of fear and ignorance. She
has helped many children restore their health without the
use of drugs or antibiotics. Additionally, Dr. Laura cares
for adults as well, using a variety of specific, gentle adjustments
that are greatly embraced by those patients that have an apprehension
towards traditional chiropractic adjustments.
"Dr. Tom"
Dr. Tom Woodman is a 2005 graduate from Life Chiropractic
College West in Hayward, CA. Being a competitive athlete,
Dr. Tom understands the benefit that chiropractic can offer
those people with a similar mindset. Athletes tend to push
themselves hard - years of pushing the body this hard can
take its toll. While most people associate these aches and
pains as part of getting old, Dr. Tom, using a form of Active
Release Technique (deep tissue muscle work to adhesions that
form within the muscles themselves), finds it very rewarding
in helping these people feel younger and push themselves even
harder. His approach is first determine if these aches and
pains are the actual problem, or merely the end of the body's
ability to compensate for problem elsewhere. Once this is
determined, a comprehensive approach to restoring balance
is used to solve each patient's individual problem.
Dr. Laura and Dr. Tom also help the general population as
well. Many of the common muscular and spinal conditions that
people experience can be helped through chiropractic adjustments
and soft tissue stretching and deep tissue massage. Be it
neck pain, back pain, headaches, pain down the arms or legs,
or any other physical condition, most of patients are amazed
at how much better they can feel and are grateful to have
found our office.
